Have you ever seen this movie?

Have you ever seen Steve Martin and John Candy in "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"? I am living that movie out right now! Stephen and I left for Las Vegas last Thursday, Dec. 11 and flew back into Little Rock yesterday to icy weather in Arkansas. We tried to make it all the way home, but had to get off of I-40 at the Maumelle exit. We got a room at the Days Inn hoping that we could wake up this morning and make it the rest of the way home...wishful thinking at best. We're stuck here for another night and PRAYING that we can make it home tomorrow. When we get home tomorrow, I will have gone 6 days without seeing my Paige. That's just too long! Needless to say, we won't be taking any more trips for a long while. It'll take quite awhile to recover from this misery.
To try to lighten the mood, Stephen and I decided to take some pictures of our dinner tonight and of our awful hotel room...

This is the view from the room...isn't it lovely? Yeah, I'm not letting the comforter touch me.

Our immaculate bathroom...wouldn't you say? The fan makes an awful noise when you turn the light on (they are on the same switch). Just imagine the most annoying noise in the world. There you have it.

Why do I have a picture of the bottom of the bathtub? Well I'm glad you asked! There were hairs (not from your head) in the bottom of the tub...Not. gonna. stand.on.that.

Here's our amazing dinner from the Valero gas station across the highway...2 HUGE cokes (plus a 20 ounce bottle to refill when necessary), a small bag of Cooler Ranch Doritos, a large bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos, a bag of Muchies snack mix, a snack size bag of mini Chips Ahoy cookies, and a pint of Yarnell's Butter Pecan ice cream. Stephen wouldn't put the ice cream down to let it be part of the picture, so I just took it with him eating it.

This is a beautiful picture of me being MISERABLE AND DESPERATE to get out of Maumelle and home to my baby girl. Love my zebra print pj pants? I do too.

I'm going home tomorrow come hell or high water. Period. End.of.story.

This sounds like my adventures every time I attempt to leave Chicago...either I miss my flight, it gets cancelled or it snows. Then the trains are usually under construction or delayed and I am not paying $50 to a cab driver to take me home. Arg. I can totally feel you pain! Glad you finally made it home.

Maranda you were a few exits away from my parents house in NLR. Wish I'd known and you could've stayed with them! That motel yall were in isn't the best, so sorry you had to stay there. Hopefully you're home, safe and sound now.
