Fancy name for these lovely misters:
Last Monday Paige started getting a fever blister. I wasn’t completely sure that’s what it was, but within a day or so I was pretty certain. She wasn’t running a fever, so we just decided to let it run its course. By Friday, she had a 2nd blister and began running a temperature. On Saturday we took her to our pediatrician’s Saturday clinic where we found out she has herpetic stomatitis, which is the exact kind of fever blisters my mom and sister have. The doctor we saw didn’t recommend any medicine for the blisters because he said the medicines didn’t shorten healing time by much. I was ok with that until Sunday night when Paige’s fever spiked at 103. I called her normal pediatrician this morning and he wanted to see her again this afternoon. He agreed with the first doctor’s diagnosis but he put her on liquid A.Cyclovir to quicken the healing process. She can’t go back to school this week because she’s still contagious until the blisters dry up. Her appetite is awful and we’re struggling to get her to even drink much. We’ve tried PediaSure, Gatorade, milk, and popsicles. We’re praying for a good night for Paige tonight as well as patience for Mom and Dad!
