Santa Gingerbread Cookie

Last Wednesday my mom brought Paige a Santa Claus gingerbread cookie kit and on Thursday we braved the goopy icing and made a Santa!  Paige, of course, loved every second of it and I actually made myself enjoy this experience with my daughter.  It was a lot of fun for both of us!

dec10-gingerbread cookie1 Paige is very excited to get started on the cookies…and we basically stayed in our pj’s for most of the day on Thursday, hence the cupcake pj’s on Paige.

dec10-gingerbread cookie2 We started with the red icing first and colored in Santa’s hat.

dec10-gingerbread cookie3 I let Paige squirt the icing out onto the cookie and then I helped her spread the icing out with a knife.

dec10-gingerbread cookie4After the red icing, we moved onto the green icing for Santa’s eyes.

dec10-gingerbread cookie5  Does Santa’s eyes look extremely scary to anyone else?! Moving on…when the spooky green eyes were complete, we moved onto the white icing for the ball on Santa’s hat and his wooly beard.

Do you think Paige was very excited?  She loved making the gingerbread Santa!
