It’s best to just attack this week in list form:
Monday-We got back late Sunday night from a family weekend vacation in Branson (post soon…I haven’t even downloaded my pictures to my computer yet), so the kids and I slept in and pretty much just chilled. Except for having to go to WalMart. An iPhone makes the WM trip with 2 kids manageable!
Tuesday-Woke up and immediately put 2 pork butt roasts in the crockpot. We invited Stephen’s football staff over for dinner so we could all (wives included) could get to know one another better. We all had a great time and enjoyed eating, telling stories, and just talking until 9:30.
Wednesday-Stephen had to go to a 7 on 7 camp with the football team. He got to make it home for lunch and brought the new coach home too eat leftovers too. I’m wanting our home to be a place that everyone feels comfortable and being an open place for our families, friends, and kids is extremely important to me.
Thursday-I worked on Ryan’s first birthday invitations all day. I ordered them from Etsy and had a wonderful experience with the PrintFairy. I sent them to WalMart and picked them up in an hour. I spent nap time addressing envelopes!
Friday-Stephen had the day off…yay! But, like most days off he just can’t stay away! He took Paige with him when he ran to the school. My Gran called during that time and asked us over for lunch and then she wanted Paige to stay and play the rest of the afternoon. She had such a great time, like always, but had been complaining of a tummy ache all day. I didn’t really think much of it, honestly. But when I brought her home from Gran’s, she went straight to her room and I found her curled up on her floor with no tv on or toys out. I knew something wasn’t right. I texted our nurse friend and she said her husband (our Dr.) was still at the clinic and to go up there. Earlier in the week Paige complained of her pee pee burning, but she didn’t complain consistently so I just forgot about it. Along with her stomach hurting, she said her back hurt as well and I immediately went to appendicitis or a kidney infection. We ran to the doctor’s office and she gave a urine sample and sure enough, she has another UTI. The girl has at least 4 every year. We are at the point of needing to investigate what’s causing these recurring infections. It’s not going to be a fun process, but we feel like it’s the only thing we can do. Paige felt tons better when she got a new Polly Pocket doll and got invited to spend the night with her Nanny and Papa!
Tomorrow we are planning to spend some time with friends in the evening and Sunday will be spent relaxing and preparing for football to really begin next week. Stephen has football camp Monday and Tuesday and he’ll help start 7th grade practices on Wednesday. Here comes football season!
And just so you can see it, here’s Ryan’s birthday invitation…My sister made up the poem and it’s exactly what I wanted! So glad I have a super creative sister.
