We lost to Booneville tonight. :-( It’s always a tough game, and honestly, we normally don’t come out on top. Doesn’t mean the loss is any easier! Our boys played SO hard tonight, though. Several were upset after the game because of the outcome. In fact, the QB hugged me for probably 5 solid minutes outside the locker room…just wanting someone to tell him it was ok and next week would be different.
Football is about wins and losses…YES! Believe me that’s the goal. But over the years and especially this year since Stephen is at the reigns I’ve learned even more that it’s about relationships with these boys. So many of them don’t have great home lives and it kills Stephen and I. We’d open up our living room and have sleeping bags lining the floor if we thought we could. We love these boys!
