Surprise Dinner Guests

When Stephen was coming home from softball practice tonight (around 5:45), he called and asked me if we wanted to meet our friend Doyle and his son Ty at a local restaurant for dinner. Doyle's wife, Mandy, was at a graduate class tonight. While it would have been fun to have dinner out, I already had spaghetti, green beans, garlic bread, and brownies ready to eat. So, I told Stephen to call Doyle back and tell him and Ty to come have dinner with us. And they did! We had a great time eating together and then playing with the kids. They ran around and chased a balloon for the longest time, then we took them outside to play with bubbles and sidewalk chalk...they loved it! After the outside playing, they were filthy dirty so I gave them a bath together and they loved that even more. When the bath mess was cleaned up, both kids decided to put on a show by dancing to our satellite radio on the tv...both naked other than diapers. It had to be one of the most hilarious times ever...too bad my camera was in my car and I couldn't put the video camera down long enough to go get it. At least we have video if not pictures, right? Ty cried when he had to go home...it was sweet and sad all at the same time. I know I've said it before, but we HAVE to get them together more often-they play so well together and will be friends their entire lives! I'm betting that Paige and Ty both sleep really well tonight!
