We had some family and maternity pictures made in the middle of July…and I honestly could not be more pleased with the way they turned out! Liz Chrisman took our photos and she was absolutely amazing. She and I had talked pretty extensively before the shoot about what style I had in mind and the location that was so important to me. She was very willing to be flexible and made sure that everything that I wanted, I got. We’re looking forward to her being part of Ryan’s first year pictures beginning soon!
All of our pictures were taken on Four Oaks Lane…my maternal grandparents moved from Georgia to Arkansas in the 70s and settled on 4 Oaks. Although my Papa passed away 16 years ago and Gran has been living in town for more than 10 years now, my cousin (actually from my Dad’s side!) and her husband bought the house from Gran! I had my Senior pictures taken on the property and it was extremely important to me to have these pictures taken here as well.
This is one of my favorites from the entire session…Liz really captured Paige’s sassiness with her hand on her hip and her slight smile. It’s just so her! This picture was taken in front of the “newer” barn on 4 Oaks…
I don’t get entirely fired up about individual pictures of myself and I didn’t want a lot of posed, unnatural, typical maternity type pictures. That being said, Liz blew me out of the water on how these came out. I was amazed!
All of these pictures were taken in front of the “big barn”. My cousins and I climbed this ladder probably hundreds of times to play in the loft above. Gran would work on her dried flower arrangements and Papa had jelly/jam stored there.
Paige was in a bit of a silly mood on the evening that we had the pictures taken, so I was a bit concerned at how she would come across in the pictures. I should never have even let that thought cross my mind because Liz did such a fantastic job of capturing our Paige. I’ve never seen pictures that just “get” a child’s personality like these do…I’m in love even more every time I look at them!
The next set of pictures is possibly my favorite, and they’re the ones I knew going into the session I was most skeptical about. As you know, Stephen is a football coach. A manly, no-nonsense type football coach. He loves his boys and would do anything in the world for any of them, but when Liz mentioned this idea for this set of pictures I just knew there was absolutely no way in the world I was going to be able to convince Stephen to do it. But I was wrong. VERY wrong. In fact, when I told him about Liz’s idea he was very for it. He thought it would be the coolest picture in the world…that being said:
Liz had the idea of Stephen drawing a football play on my belly and then “coaching” Ryan, like he would during a pre-game or halftime speech. Stephen took it to the next level and brought the football, wore his coaching hat and shirt, and literally talked to Ryan like one of his players. I held my laughter in as long as I could and then I just couldn’t take it anymore! These look perfect framed in Ryan’s room, though.
Lots of memories on 4 Oaks Lane…and on that night, I got to make even more! These pictures are more than I could have asked for…Thanks, Liz!
