….this is what our Saturday (mornings mainly, but sometimes all day) looks like. If Stephen hasn’t drug the recliner directly in front of the tv so he and Paige can break down football film together, he’s parked at the dining room table with his laptop, printer, about 752 sheets of white paper to draw plays, etc on, pens, markers…anything else you can think of that a coach might need to prepare for the next team. Not to mention that Paige has to have her own white paper to draw her defense on and maybe some watercolors for good measure.
Junior High football season starts this Tuesday night-expectations are extremely high around our house! Stephen is the defensive coordinator and he sets the bar high for his players. He wants shut outs and and undefeated season. That means tons of hours sitting in the recliner watching film and countless more at the dining room table…but I’m so proud of him during this time of year! He has determination, knowledge, strength, and he cares genuinely about his boys. Is it time consuming? Yes. Does it take away from our family time? Yes. Do I get irritated about that? Um, yes…more often than I should. Does Paige act out more this time of year because Daddy’s not around as much? Yes. Is it worth it to see my husband doing what he loves? Yes, for sure!
