My Baby is One.

 

Today my baby isn’t a baby anymore.  I’m sad…there I said it.  It’s ridiculous I know! I just can’t believe how quickly this past year has flown by and how much has changed in our little family since his birth.

When Ryan Clark entered this world weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long at 39 weeks gestation, our family of 3 was forever changed.  Not only were we adding another person entirely, we were adding a little boy and I don’t think any of us were prepared for exactly what that meant! Immediately, Ryan was totally different than Paige.  Obvious things made them different from the beginning, but his demeanor and personality were not what we were used to!  He’s clingy to me and very reserved until he really gets to know someone (much like I am).  Paige doesn’t know a stranger and will run off and play with anybody that remotely looks like fun (just like Stephen).  He’s turned our world upside down and I wouldn’t trade anything for it!

I don’t have his 1 year stats yet because his appointment is on Friday, but I do know that Ryan is HUGE.  He’s an eater! We honestly haven’t come onto many things that the boy won’t eat.  We’ve had to cut back from total table foods just a tad because his stomach was hurting him and it was causing problems during his naptime.  He still eats “table food”, just a blander version.  He loves to play “tackle, tackle, tackle” with his Daddy and can’t wait to wrestle and rough house with him everyday when he gets home.  He can say “Dada”, “Bo” (Paige), “Papa”, “Baba”, and “Mama” and “Nan” occasionally.  He can wave bye, give high fives, and give mooches!  He’s wearing size 4 diapers, size 18 month clothes, size 5 Nikes, and has a smile that will melt your heart.  Ryan Clark Banning…we love you more than words can say.  You are a blessing we never knew we were missing out on! Happy 1st Birthday, Son! We love you!
