I was inspired by Rachel at Life with the Browns to write out the things that I’m currently thankful for. It’s been a whirlwind few weeks in our lives and I know I forget to be grateful for the big things, much less the small things. So, here goes:
-I’m thankful for our 15 year old niece, Hallie, coming over this afternoon after school to play with my kids (and her younger sister) so I could go help her mom decorate for Homecoming. She had supper plated and ready when Stephen walked in from football-what a girl!
-I’m thankful for a loving Father that forgives me when I ask it of Him. I say and do stupid (I really don’t like that word, but it seems appropriate here) things that I regret almost immediately. But I know all I have to do is ask for His forgiveness and He throws it in a deep ocean, never to be remembered again!
-I’m thankful that my Mom is feeling so much better and acting and speaking like her old self again. I don’t think she remembers much of last week and I don’t like her living in a fog!
-I’m thankful for friends who praise Stephen and tell me they appreciate the job he does with his football players. The kids and I have literally seen him for less than an hour all week so it’s encouraging to hear uplifting words from parents.
-I’m thankful that I can provide lunch for 2 of Stephen’s football boys. They’re precious boys and I know they appreciate the food. I only wish I could do it more.
-I’m thankful for my Mother in Law who spent 8 hours with Ryan Monday afternoon/evening while I took Paige to Children’s. She also helped me last week during the day my mom had surgery. And she’ll take Paige after the football game tomorrow night so I can help with Homecoming on Friday.
-I’m thankful for my Daddy who is my go to “Fix-it” man. He’s always my first call.
-I’m thankful for my sister that loves my kids like they are her own. Heck, one day they may be her own if something ever happens to Stephen and I! Seriously.
-I’m thankful that my Father in Law is my yard man. Stephen and I don’t mow our own yard (unless Stephen is helping his Dad). We literally don’t even own our own lawn mower.
-I’m thankful for my Gran who came to sit and play with Paige yesterday afternoon while Ryan napped because I had a hair appointment that I totally forgot about until yesterday morning. She’s always helpful at a moment’s notice.
Gratefulness should be recognized every.single.day. I don’t show my thankfulness nearly enough!
